Join us for a full day of helicopter skiing and riding in the majestic Idaho backcountry.  A full day of heliskiing and riding includes 6 runs per person.  Each run typically ranges from approximately 1,000 to 3,000 vertical feet of legendary Idaho powder.  We provide our guests with state of the art Mammut Barryvox avalanche transceivers and Mammut avalanche airbags.  Lunch is included and is usually served in the field in a sunny and wind protected area.  A daily safety briefing is provided to our guests to familiarize them with our helicopter, terrain, equipment and other protocols.  Our terrain accommodates intermediate and expert skiers and riders.

FULL DAY HELI SKIING AND RIDING ITINERARY

YOUR FIRST DAY OF HELI-SKI AND RIDING

 Please be sure to give yourself plenty of time for stretching to ensure a great day of heli skiing. Please make sure you have all the proper gear and equipment before leaving your accommodation. We strongly recommend that you speak with our staff about your equipment to be sure that you have the proper gear for backcountry skiing and riding no later than the day before your first heliski and riding day.  We will provide light snacks and coffee during the morning safety briefing, but we recommend eating a hearty breakfast prior to the meeting.

7:30 AM: Call Status Line – (208.622.3108 OPT#2)

Each morning, our status line will be updated by 7:30AM. Always call this line for safety meeting location;  meeting time, weather delays, and other information, which may impact your schedule. It is your responsibility to check this line each morning.

8:00 AM: Guest Sign-In and Briefing – Sun Valley Heli Headquarters- 215 Picabo Street -

Attending a safety briefing and orientation is mandatory for all guests on their first day of heli-skiing for the season.  SVHS requires that you sign a liability release form and safety briefing acknowledgement in the presence of  a designated SVHS representative.

8:45 AM:

All groups depart to their staging areas, which could include taking the Challenger lift from the Warm Springs Base Lodge for a pick up on the top of Baldy, to taking our Heli Ski Van to our various staging areas. Field based avalanche Transceiver Training will take place prior to the first flight at each staging area.

9:00-10:30 AM:

All groups are ferried from their staging areas into the field for heli skiing and riding!

Midday:

On-Mountain Lunch – and continue skiing and riding!

3 to 5 PM:

Return from skiingLots of high 5’s!

It is very important that you call the status line number for meeting place, departure times or weather delays. Your staging area and times will be provided through this line. Pickup times will also be provided if applicable.
