Matt was born and raised in Boise, Idaho and after many year’s circuitous path graduated from Boise State University in 2014. He has lived in Stanley, Idaho during summers since 2008 guiding rock, alpine and hiking adventures throughout the Sawtooth Mountains and beyond. He started working for Sun Valley Heli Ski in 2014 when he and his wife Sarah made the full time move to the Wood River Valley. Passion for sharing mountain experiences led him into American Mountain Guides Association training at an early age and he became a fully certified AMGA/IFMGA Mountain Guide in the fall of 2021. He and Sarah have spent time living in France and traveling throughout Europe for skiing and climbing as well as numerous adventures throughout SE Asia. His personal motto is, “The only thing better than skiing is more skiing”. Matt is the Snow Safety Officer for SVHS.
