Sun Valley Heli Ski has just concluded its 58th successful season of helicopter skiing! The 2022-2023 season was defined by a series of atmospheric rivers that book-ended our season. As typically happens here in the Wood River Valley, when California gets the goods, we get the goods.

Sun Valley is aptly named for the more than 200 sunny days that grace our valley each year. These bluebird days contribute to the world-class experience offered here at Sun Valley Heli Ski. However, you can’t have a bluebird powder day without the powder! When winter storms strike, that typically means a day on the ground and a different kind of adventure for our guests. What a wild season! We had an amazing early season with a stable snowpack that allowed us to ski zones we have not skied in a number of years. In general, the Sun Valley region provided some of the best backcountry skiing in the lower 48 throughout most of the season. This resulted in a record number of ski days for SVHS. And we finished the season with Spring skiing just like the good 'ol days - Hoo boy!

Home stretch - March 2022

We are now starting the home stretch to our season, with just under two weeks left to go. And what a season it has been! We started the season with a series of atmospheric rivers that came soaring into our area and provided us with an exceptional snowpack across all of our immense terrain.

Mother Nature's Magical Game in Sun Valley - Jan 2022

Mother Nature has once again played her magical game in Sun Valley. We went from zero in early December to hero by the end of the month. This all resulted from a series of storm cycles that came through the Wood River Valley in Mid-December and into early January.

SVHS Holiday Wrap-Up - Dec 2021

What a start to the season it has been! We hardly had any snow at mid and lower elevations in mid-December. Then, a series of snow cycles, starting on December 11th, arrived. This has left us with extensive snowpack throughout our expansive terrain.
